Dresses and skirts are fabulous, but sometimes you just need to wear something with a little more flexibility - perfect for dancing the night away without a care in the world! Our playsuits and jumpsuits offer our vintage lovers the confidence and comfort of trousers or shorts with all the glamorous and feminine style of a dress - the perfect style solution!
Vintage playsuits were first popularised women of the 1940s. Also known as rompers, playsuits were worn by women either at the beach, while sunbathing, or even for playing sports. Brightly coloured and patterned with either floral or hawaiian prints, the 1940s playsuit had another resurgence in popularity during the 1980s with looser designs. Our collection of vintage playsuits offer you both the 1940s fitted playsuit style, or the looser and more casual design, so all you need to do is pick your favourite!
The fashion jumpsuit (not the type used for skydivers!) has been fluctuating in popularity since the roaring 1920’s, but they didn’t quite hit the mainstream fashion catwalks until the late 60s and early 70s. The flowing cut of the jumpsuit meant that women could enjoy the ease of trousers, while still giving the illusion of a dress. Jumpsuits reached their peak in the 1980s when the cuts of power suits were combined with the embellishments of party dresses for a stunning statement outfit. Each of our jumpsuits at Collectif are inspired by vintage statement dressing, but are unique and modern in their design!
