Our Jill Striped Swing Dress is a pretty summer dress in a classic colourway. She’s a fun, 50s-inspired piece, with gently shaped sweetheart neckline, and flattering straps that sit widely at the top, and neatly gathered into the neckline at the front and back to create a draped cap sleeve effect. Her fit and flare shape flatters the figure, with princess seams through the bodice to create a good fit. Her swing skirt can easily accommodate a fluffy petticoat, should you choose to wear one, and she fastens with a covered centre back zip. Jill is made in a solid cotton-rich fabric, with monochromatic black and white stripes positioned horizontally across the bodice and vertically through the skirt, and an eye-catching red fabric slide belt, backed with sturdy PU, to accentuate the waist. Pair yours with red accessories and knitwear for a vintage-inspired ensemble.

4Nice sun dress

I bought this dress in the sale and have worn it a couple of times. I swapped the red belt for a black shiny belt as I felt this was more in keeping with overall colour scheme. When I first wore the dress, my partner joked that maybe I was a convict on the run from the fashion police (grin). My reasons for only giving the dress four stars is that the belt loops are only thin strands of cotton which will not stand up to much handling. Also, I had a bit of trouble keeping the straps on my shoulders, and the bodice didn't really sit well with my strapless bra. With the spacing of the shoulder straps, an ordinary bra is out of the question with this dress. I have not tried the dress with an underskirt yet.
