Woman Crush Wednesdays featuring Talis Bell

Woman Crush Wednesdays

♡ Talis Bell ♡

We’re back with our Woman Crush Wednesday segment and this week we’re looking behind the scenes at Bright and Beautiful. Who best to get to know other than our fabulous designer Talis Bell, inspired by the 60’s, 70’s and all things retro!1. Hi Talis! We love your fabulous designs for Bright and Beautiful; what is it about the 60’s and 70’s that you love the most?
Personally for me it is the freedom of people being able to express themselves both physically and artistically. The 60’s and 70’s were truly inspiring and started a cultural revolution.

2. Describe your creative process for us.
As a designer, I start by researching current and up and coming catwalk trends, then adding inspiration from 60’s and 70’s designs, and finally influences from my own life experiences. All of these elements combined form the basis of each season’s collection. Each season I introduce different themes and a hidden meaning behind the collection, which can be seen through the shapes and bespoke prints of the garments.

3.Name your top three favourite pieces coming to Bright and Beautiful this season?
Kay Fair Isle Jumper, Fansica Zodiac Pencil Dress, Isabella Holiday Check Dress

4. Where do you find inspiration when creating a new design?
To be honest a lot of my inspiration comes from my own personal experience, whether that’s from travel, friends, family or my own emotions. It’s then mixed in with influences and movements from the 60’s and 70’s, music and current catwalk trends.

6. Do you have any hidden talents?
I love to bake and make a mean carrot cake 😉

 5. If you could pick your all-time-favourite Bright and Beautiful design from any season, what would you chose?
Astrid Highland Dress7. What quirks do you have?
Once the music takes over I’m known for my ‘snake hips’ which has become a signature move!

8. You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What colour would you be and why?
Burgundy – because I’m very down to earth and humble but have great ambition.

9.  How would you describe your own aesthetic?
My aesthetic is to feel free, be loved and live your dream.

10. And finally,  Who is your style icon?
Farrah Fawcett, Mary Quant, Stevie Nicks

Thank you Talis for joining us this week and giving us the opportunity to learn more about yourself! Join us next week for more!
