How to dress for the Royal Wedding

We know you are all excited for the Royal wedding this Saturday on the 19th May and of course we’re all hyped for the big day! We have been looking back on dresses through history and this calls for a vintage-inspired Royal wedding dress protocol!

Keeping with our British roots and our national colours we have picked some of our most fancy and regal coloured dresses to get the perfect wedding guest attire!

Red Vintage Dresses1. Dolores doll classic cotton 2. Kitty Gingham trim swing dress 3. Shirley swing dress 4. Mandy plain pencil dress 5. Candice London border print dress 6. Dolores dress polka

Nothing says Royal like red – just take a look inside The Buckingham Palace at the grandeur use of this colour! We have a variety of vintage swing dresses to choose from – whatever your style! Of course we have our ever-popular and flattering Dolores doll dress which is a great wardrobe staple. Team her with blue and white accessories to complete your look! Another favourite is our Shirley swing dress – a beautiful, fancy classic with her unique triangular cut-out on the chest with button detailing at the neck and bodice. Moving along, can you get any more British with our Collectif x ModCloth Candice London border print dress? And its even more fitting that she comes in red!

If swing dresses are not your vibe, we also have 50’s inspired pencil dresses with their flattering shape which you can team with a cute little blue or white clutch bag! Our Mandy also comes with detachable straps so you can wear her however you like.

 1. Dolores dress polka 2. Saria floral fan swing dress 3. Caterina vintage pencil dress 4. Joice striped swing dress 5. Vanessa plain swing dress 6. Maddison toile floral print swing dress

Next up are our suitable blue dresses fit for the occasion! We are loving our and Saria floral fan swing dress which combines all of our national colours into one! If you are looking for something a little more classic and elegant, we recommend the Vanessa plain swing dress from our ModCloth collaboration. This 50’s swing dress is adorned with a lavish ivory satin waist belt, long enough to tie in a fancy bow. Also see our fabulously vintage Maddison toile print swing dress, pair her with some short, white, satin gloves to perfect that classic regal look.
If you are in search of vintage dresses inspired by the 1940s, look no further than our popular Caterina vintage pencil dress who is reminiscent of shirt dresses of the era.

1. Jessica bow bag in Blue 2. Jessica bow bag in White 3. Jessica bow matte bag in Red

Last but not least – accessories are the perfect way to bring an outfit together and we are loving our Jessica bow bags in the Union Jack colours! She’s adorned with two bows which give them that extra sweet touch!

We hope you look and feel royally fabulous for the occasion!

Love the Collectif team
xoxo
